Shipham Village Hall

Shipham Village Hall, New Road, Shipham, BS25 1SG, Somerset, England

Shipham Village Hall is a much-appreciated venue for weddings and other large celebrations. The hall is Covid-19 compliant and is open for events subject to any government restrictions that are set out on the Hall's web site.

It is ideally situated just off the A38, 15 miles south of Bristol, and within easy reach of the M5 from the North and South. Its wooded site in an Area of Natural Beauty with panoramic views to the Bristol Channel could hardly be bettered.

Please visit our web site "www.shiphamhall.co.uk" to view pictures of imaginative adaptations and decoration of the main hall for such events and other uses.

The hall combines amenities and facilities in a very attractive building built to the highest standards in 2005 and refurbished annually. The interior space and facilities and its car park can accommodate quite large numbers. The hall has full premises and music licences. Hirers do have to organise their own catering and bar arrangements.

All the rooms are wired for computer use with access to ultra-high-speed internet and have hearing loop facilities, screens and projection facilities with blackout provisions. The facilities are ideal for meetings for clubs and organisations, leisure activities, family celebrations, weddings and anniversary gatherings, dances, community and fundraising events, educational classes, arts display, conferences, and most other meetings for organisations and individuals, even including some sports.

The large main hall is spacious and has high quality theatre sound production available.  2 hatches give access to the adjacent main kitchen that is equipped to commercial standards. At one end of the hall there is a 7metre deep, well-equipped, stage that also has a large drop-down projection screen. Cinema standard projection and sound may be possible by arrangement with the local Cinema Club. This main hall can seat up to 200 for a film or staged event and accommodate up to maximum of 144 when used for dining, dependent on the selected meal service.

The George Thiery room is finished to a high standard and provides a large convivial meeting room, and with its own kitchenette it is ideal for group meetings or small classes.  It has its own ceiling mounted projector and screen

The slightly smaller Star room provides a conference/committee room or a club room. As there is a direct link to the main hall it can accommodate bar facilities for larger events. It also serves as a changing room for stage productions.

All use high quality cushioned chairs and Go-Pak tables

There is a "Patio Area" which is ideal for the summer months

There is car parking for at least 60 cars
