Baby Showers can mean a lot to a Mummy-to-be - it's a chance to relax with friends before a huge change, especially if it's before a first baby. They're also a chance to soak up help and advice from friends who have maybe 'been there and done that' already. For Future Mums who are nervous about how they'll be able to live their lives and experience the finer things in life with a little one in tow, a Baby Shower can feel like the last chance for a while to do something that you won't be able to do for a few years once Bump has arrived.
(By the way - life needn't stop once the little one has arrived, especially if you've just got one! Although it will likely feel like that initially.)
With all that in mind, how about a Baby Shower in a rather lovely restaurant? Somewhere that feels special, and grown up. Somewhere where the decor means you don't need to worry about decorations. And where you can just book a table for a group of you and rock up for a lovely brunch or lunch. There are a few chains that come to mind that tick all of these boxes:
The Ivy
Most special on the list - with a price tag to match - is The Ivy. With over 40 restaurants across England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland, fingers crossed there will be one near you. I had the most amazing non-alcoholic cocktail in the Clifton Village (Bristol) Ivy in April; perfect for a Mum-to-be who can't drink prosecco! Also, make sure you go to the loo to see the ceiling of flowers.
The Florist
The Florist is on this list because the decor is perfect for a girly gathering - as the name suggests, expect flowers galore. Unfortunately at the moment there are only 2 restaurants in the UK - one in Watford and one in Liverpool. But if you're in those areas, check them out.
Cosy Club
There are over 30 Cosy Clubs across England, with each one occupying a rather special building. If you want grand architecture and art deco glamour, then Cosy Club's your place. At the time of writing this they've just launched a new menu too. There are also private hire options in many of their locations if you want your party to be a little more tucked away.
Of course consider small independent restaurants near you too, but these city centre locations can provide a good meeting place for friends who may be travelling from far and wide to meet up for a special occasion.
