The Tankerville Arms Hotel

The Tankerville Arms Hotel is a 17th century coaching inn situated at the foot of the Cheviot hills in Wooler, North Northumberland. The hotel can cater for small, intimate celebrations of just a few guests or host larger occasions of up to 100 people during the day and 200 for an evening party. Sole use of the hotel is also an option.

WEDDINGS

We hold a Civil Marriage License allowing you to be married in a choice of rooms. The Chillingham Room is perfect for your service which adjoins the Copper Bar which is fitting for drinks and canapes. Our elegant Cheviot Restaurant offers an ideal setting for your wedding breakfast overlooking our lovely private gardens where, for larger parties, a marquee can also be placed. If you prefer a two or three-day celebration we can host a barbecue or formal meal the night before your wedding and a brunch or hog roast the day after – the possibilities are endless at The Tankerville Arms Hotel!

 ACCOMMODATION

The hotel has 17 double, twin, single and family en-suite rooms, some of which are dog friendly. We also have 6 new self-catering cottages which offer a lovely, modern space of your own but are only a few steps from our bar, restaurant and beautiful garden. Built in 2021 the ground floor cottages have wheelchair access.

LOCATION

Wooler sits on the edge of Northumberland’s spectacular National Park and is ideally situated on the A697 from Morpeth to the Scottish Border at Coldstream. Considered the ‘Gateway to the Cheviots’ Wooler is an ideal base for your guests to enjoy walking, cycling and exploring the Cheviot Hills. The small stone-built market town is home to a bustling High Street with a smattering of traditional shops, pubs and cafes, along with churches and buildings that date back to the eighteenth century.
