The main supermarkets (Tescos, Asda, Waitrose, Sainsburys etc) are struggling to keep up with demand placed on them by the Covid 19 virus crisis. Whether this is due to customer stockpiling, an increased demand resulting from closed cafes, or sickness among their staff, some supermarkets have stopped deliveries altogether, whilst others have queues to even enter their websites and if you do manage to load their website, getting a delivery slot is highly unlikely.
Meanwhile, the government is encouraging us all to socially distance ourselves, and an increasing number of us having to self-isolate, which makes getting food a tricky business.
The supermarkets might be temporarily out of action for most of us, but there are lots of smaller companies many of which previously only offered wholesales deliveries for cafes and shops, which are now diversifying. Even cafes and restaurants themselves are diversifying and offering take-aways to their customers.
To help reduce the stress of not knowing how and where to find food, we're compiling a list of local food delivery services offering food delivery during the Covid19 crisis to vulnerable, elderly, self-isolating and everyone else.
If you'd like us to notify you as and when we hear of food delivery services who operate in your area, leave your email address and post code here.
