St Nicholas' Church Barn

St. Nicholas' Lane, Warndon Villages, Worcester, WR4 0SL, Worcestershire, England

based on 1 review

A venue suitable for a wide range of activities:
The historic St. Nicholas Church and its neigbouring hall (known as ‘The Barn’) was were renovated about 20 years ago as part of the development of Warndon Villages. The Barn has well-equipped and modern kitchen facilities including a cooker, fridge, water boiler, with plates, bowls, cups & crockery provided.

The toilet facilities include a disabled toilet, with baby-change equipment.

The Barn is suitable for groups such as pre-schools, fitness, meditation, work meetings, parties, and family gatherings.

Location:
The Barn sits within the secluded and picturesque grounds of the small white 12th century parish church of St. Nicholas, to the North East of Warndon Villages in Worcester.

The church is easy to spot as you exit the M5 motorway at Jn 6, but as it sits right on the edge of Warndon Villages, and overlooks the countryside, it has feel and appearance of a secluded country church.

The Barn is an ideal venue for summer parties; your guests are welcome to make use of the active churchyard (grass and mature trees), and children are able to play in the grounds safely as the church is at the end of a dead-end lane without passing traffic.

The church has its own car park with safe parking, and is well situated for bus services which stop at the bottom of the lane (5-10 mins walk). The nearest train station is 3 miles away, in the centre of Worcester.

There is also a restaurant/pub (Beefeater) and Premier Inn within easy walking distance if you don’t fancy driving home after your event.

2 Rooms for hire:
The main hall has a capacity of approx. 40/50 people, and there are 2 small rooms, one of which is suitable as a meeting/breakout/dressing room.

There is a separate room on the first floor, which is suitable for meetings or additional party space. This room is only accessible from fairly steep stairs on the outside of the building, and may not be suitable for small children or people with bad knees!

Affordable hire costs for Local Community:
The Barn was renovated as a community facility so we try to keep prices affordable.

There is 1 review of St Nicholas' Church Barn.

  • I got married in St. Nicks church last summer, and hired the Barn for the reception afterwards. I was a bit concerned that it was going to be too small for the 80 guests that I'd invited, but St. Nicks were exceptionally accommodating so I crossed my fingers for the weather, and put up 2 small marquees on the grass in the churchyard. We had an amazing time, and many of our guests commented on the fantastic location. The weather was beautiful so we were able to take out chairs outside onto the grass, and sit in the sun with our friends. It was great for the kids as there is no traffic to worry about, and as the church is at the end of a quiet lane, no other people to worry about either! A brilliant venue for family get-togethers - I will definitely go there again.
