Venue hire and catering in the heart of Elgin.
The Inkwell (formerly Elgin’s oldest school) and the Community Kitchen are located in the MacKintosh building alongside the Elgin Youth Cafe.
We are a Social Enterprise who offer room hire, catering and cookery classes to a wide range of local groups.
The Inkwell consists three spaces for hire (see below) which are ideal for activities including Workshops, AGM’s, Meetings, Exercise classes, Coffee mornings...
Our rental costs include Wifi, IT & projectors or screen set up, flip charts or whiteboards and spacial set-up options tailored to your individual needs.
In addition to room hire, we offer catering such as refreshments & homemade biscuits, as well as lunches and buffet options. For a full list and prices contact the Inkwell Team at bookings@elginyouthcafe.org
All profits generated will support our work with young people and the activities we offer at The Warehouse (Elgin Youth Cafe)

Inkwell Main – A large bright studio space suitable for rehearsals, AGMs, workshops and fitness classes. Suitable for 40-50 seated individuals, or 30-40 in a workshop environment.
Inkwell Small – Ideal for small groups of up to 20 people.
Inkwell Community Kitchen – A purpose built training kitchen suitable of hosting up to 12 students. This space is available for hire with or without a member of teaching staff.

Availability and Hire Costs

Availability: Seven days a week, including public holidays.

Hire Costs: Prices are shown on a per-hour basis. Inkwell Small - Mon-Fri 9am-5pm £14.50 | Evening/Weekend £18. Inkwell Main - Mon-Fri 9am-5pm £18 | Evening/Weekend £23. Community Kitchen - Without Ingredients & Instructor £20 | With Ingredients & Instructor £30 (Both options allow the use of the pantry). Youth Cafe - Mon-Fri 9am-5pm £18 | Evening/Weekend £23 Free Wifi, IT & flipcharts available. Various room room set-up options to suit individual needs. Catering & Refreshment options on request.
