About British Interplanetary Society
The British Interplanetary Society is the world's longest established space society. Its Headquarters, Arthur C. Clarke House, in Vauxhall has two rooms that are available for Hire. Many interesting space items are on display, including astronaut and mission photographs, large rocket models and artistic depictions of humanity's future in space.
1. The Conference Room seats up to 50 theatre, 30 classroom, 20 boardroom or U-shaped. With a ceiling-mounted computer projector and AV equipment. Includes an Annexe area that can be used for break-out groups, refreshments, etc.
2. The Council Boardroom is A distinctive historic room. Seats up to 12 and video display and conferencing available.
3. The L.J. Carter Library is the home to an extensive collection of reference and research archives related to space exploration and the history of the Society, dating back to the founding of the BIS in 1933. This unique and historic collection tells the story of space travel, academic research and contains key papers from space agencies from around the world. The Library has been used previously as a filming venue and offers a backdrop that enhances any production. It can also be used for talks, and breakout and small seminar groups. Refreshments will not be available in the Library.
