RSPB Sandwell Valley visitor centre

RSPB Sandwell Valley is an enchanting urban green space, with a visitor centre well known for its beautiful views across the valley. 

We have two function rooms, the Lake View room and the Meadow View room. Both enjoy wonderful views over the valley and its wildlife. There is a partition between these two rooms which can be drawn back so the room can be used as one.

Facilities

RSPB Sandwell Valley visitor centre has two function rooms, the Lake View room, and the Meadow View room. There is a sliding partition between these two rooms which can be drawn back creating one large room.

We can supply sandwiches if ordered in advance, please ask for the current menu and price list when booking. We are happy for people to bring their own food or for people to get food delivered here. There are no corkage charges.

There are no kitchen facilities available to use.

Equipment:
There is a large TV screen in Meadow View room for presentations which can be attached to a laptop via HDMI.

Wi-Fi is available on prior request and most mobile networks have particularly good signal.

Any mains electrical equipment used on site must be PAT tested or under 12 months old.

Availability:
The room is not available on Wednesdays.

Nature reserve:

The visitor centre is well known for its beautiful views across the nature reserve and the valley. The view from the window (see photo) is lovely and there is usually lots of wildlife to see!

Charges:

Please see the table below for room hire costs. Rooms can be booked between the hours of 9:30am – 4:30pm, all rooms must be vacated by 4:45pm.

We require a non-refundable £50 deposit payable at the time of booking to secure the room. Meadow view and Lake view are about equivalent sized and can be opened into one large room. Meadow view has a tv screen for presentations etc, Lake view has a row of sinks.

We offer a 10% discount to registered local community groups and charities.

Choose from 1-hour activities

·         Guided walk - £50 per hour

·         Guided pond dipping or minibeast hunting (March to October) - £5 per person (£50 minimum)

Room decoration:

No decorations are to be put up on the paintwork. Blue tack can be used to attach decorations to the doors and windows.

No confetti to be used outside. Any confetti / table confetti used inside to be swept up by room users.

No Balloons.

Music and Noise:

Music and noise must be kept to a level it does not disturb other visitors or wildlife, for example general conversation level.
