Do not under any circumstances book this venue for an 18th birthday party!! We all know that finding venues that will accommodate a young persons party is difficult, but having attended a 18th here before we confidently went ahead and booked our daughters party on above date. This isn't a cheap venue to hire and they made it clear they had to adhere to the rules of the license as far as supplying under age people with alcohol. We completely supported this and actually felt secure in the knowledge that they would manage this for us so we could relax and enjoy the party. We couldn't have been more wrong! They had informed us that if anyone who didn't have ID was caught consuming alcohol, it would be confiscated, and we excepted this obviously. On arrival with elderly family members etc as well as my daughter, there was no effort made to be friendly or engage with us or my daughter so we could all ensure the smooth running of the event. It just felt like they didn't like young people and branded them all trouble makers before the party had even started. It got worse and worse and my husband and I were constantly bombarded with issue after issue, threats made to close the bar down, stop the party etc. It was the most stressful night ever, was completely ruined, my daughter cried as most of her friends who had done nothing wrong were not allowed access, after paying sometimes £40 in cab fares, they had ID's everything. I witnessed some of her friends who nipped out to vape, then not allowed back in for no reasons and then when the hall was practically empty, they shut the bar nearly 2 hours early, leaving mostly older family members unable to get a drink. It was a disaster, if your going to take peoples money for a 18th, employ staff who have the skills to manage this age group and ensure a party still happens. The door staff, particularly the women, made me feel like they were looking for any reason to stop the party from the start. They were antagonistic, rude and awful, and if any problem was likely to occur it would have been because of their bully style tactics. Don't waste your money and hire elsewhere.

We hired the hall for our childrens birthday party and it worked out really well. The day was nice so the children could go outside and use the outside space. The stage was also really helpful for the act we hired as all the children could see him easily. Would recommend it. Does need a lick of paint but they said they are doing that this summer which is good. What was really helpful was the free parking. Some halls i've hired in the past have been difficult to park around.
