About Polruan Village Hall
Having entered Polruan, turn left opposite the bus shelter onto St Saviours Hill, take the first right turn onto School Lane and the Hall is to be found at the end of the Lane. It has magnificent views across the Fowey Estuary, which can be seen from the Hall’s full length external balcony, path and grassed recreational and seating area.
It provides a excellent Meeting facility for local organisations and also provides a wonderful venue for a variety of fairs, parties, coffee mornings, cream teas, family occasions, wedding receptions and other similar events. Over the past three years it has been extensively upgraded. The internal walls and roof have been fully insulated. The wooden floor of the hall has been refurbished, sanded and polished. We have installed a disabled toilet, a baby changing facility and a new air-sourced heating and air-conditioning system. The electrical systems have been upgraded and are now supported by the installation of a Solar PV Array and a twin Battery Storage facility. Dimmable lighting has been installed and all the external doors and windows have been replaced with Georgian bar double glazed units. The approach driveway to the Hall has been renewed to provide good disabled access and the entrance foyer rebuilt. A Public use open access Defibrillator is positioned on the outside wall at the Foyer Entrance and a roof covering has been installed above it.
The main hall is 23 feet wide by 48 feet long and can accommodate up to 150 people, with a comfortable seating capacity of 80 with chairs in rows, or around tables. The raised stage area at the far end of the main hall is 20 feet wide by 14 feet long and can comfortably accommodate tables for a further 14 people. Tables and chairs are available and are stored in a room adjacent to the main hall.
We have a fully fitted kitchen and are licensed for Film Shows, Music, Dance, Production & Performance of Plays, other entertainment - and the supply of alcohol.
Extensive Car Parking is available at the adjacent St Saviours Car Park. PL23 1PZ. The Car Park has 2 Genepoint 7kW 32Amp Type 2 Mennekes E.V. charging points.
