Recently refurbished, the Old School is available for hire for most functions. It features 2 large meeting rooms, one having a modern kitchen area and a smaller more intimate meeting room – the Dr John Reid meeting room. The venue is ideal for functions and meetings and is located next to St Mary's church in Church Street. It is served by a car park situated adjacent the Community Hall on the upper parking level. Access to the Old School from the car park is via the path below St Mary’s Church.
The larger main room can be utilised as an open space for activities such as exercise classes or can be laid out with comfortable modern chairs and folding tables. This room can be isolated from the smaller function room and kitchen area by shutting the glazed dividing partition. For smaller meetings, breakout sessions, committee functions etc., the Dr John Reid meeting room at the front of the building may be more suitable.
The large kitchen has modern storage units and appliances which include an oven & hob with extractor, fridge, dishwasher, kettle and microwave.
