About Stoke Hammond Community Centre
The Stoke Hammond Community Centre was formerly the village school but when in the mid 90's it was announced that it was to be closed, the village got together and raised funds to purchase the centre and the Stoke Hammond Community Association was formed. The Association is a registered charity the aim of which is to maintain and promote the building for educational and social purposes for the benefit of residents in and around Stoke Hammond. The building comprises a main hall with a fully equipped kitchen, separate gender toilets and a disabled toilet/baby changing facility. This hall is suitable for parties, meetings, functions etc. A variety of tables and chairs are available inclusive within the hire, which includes circular banqueting tables for which linen hire is also available.
There is also a smaller meeting room with its own separate toilet facilities and small kitchenette area. This room can be hired separately to the main hall.
There is a small parking area to the front of the building along with a fenced hard-standing for children play.
The Centre adjoins the village children's playground and backs onto a large playing field. The latter available for use subject to certain conditions and permission being sought from the Parish Council.
With the exception of school term dates when the main hall is used by a preschool nursery Mon - Fri between the hours of 08.30 - 15.30 the centre is available for hire.
Stoke Hammond is centrally located between Leighton Buzzard and Bletchley. It has a village shop and public house and is just a short walk from the Grand Union Canal.
