About Ibberton & Belchalwell Village Hall
The corrugated iron, wood lined Village Hall is located on the Eastern edge of Ibberton Village adjoining fields and the village cricket pitch. It was built in 1892 as a temporary church for the two villages of Ibberton and Belchalwell situated in Rural North Dorset. Following a successful National Lottery Bid the hall was refurbished in 2001 with a new kitchen and toilet facilities, stage lighting and sound system and computer network with superfast fixed-wireless Internet.
Ibberton village lies at the foot of Bulbarrow Hill, in an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, overlooking the Blackmore Vale. Examples of cross dykes, strip lynchets and round barrows can be seen on the surrounding hills.
The village has several listed buildings in its Conservation Area, including a 17th century manor house, now a working farm, and several thatched cottages.
