About The Old Goods Shed
Fully refurbished in 2019 to a high specification, the Old Goods Shed provides modern facilities and easy access within an original Victorian railway building. In the shadow of a medieval motte and a stone’s throw from a beautiful river walk, the Old Goods Shed is a landmark at Clare Castle Country Park, situated in the historic Suffolk medieval town of Clare. The Park attracts significant visitor numbers, particularly during the summer months and at weekends.

Main internal space.
The multi use space can accommodate up to 94 people, and is an ideal place for:
- Exhibitions of all kinds, and particularly art, with excellent natural light and dedicated facilities
- Workshops, seminars, training sessions and away days
- An indoor and outdoor classroom, suitable for businesses, railway enthusiasts, local historians, schools and others
- Wedding receptions with a difference, with a country park on the doorstep and access to a range of outdoor activities
- Memorable social gatherings for special occasions
In addition to its stunning views of the motte and Victorian railway buildings, the building has a well equipped kitchen, extensive hanging wires and display boards, internet and projector, chairs and tables for hirers' use and a cafe in an adjacent building. There is excellent access for anyone with mobility issues.
