The Cornerstone Centre is attached to St John’s Church. It comprises the main hall, a smaller meeting room (the Dora Honnor Room) and an upstairs office (the Langsmead Room).
The main hall and the Dora Honnor Room are both available for hire, individually or together.
Whilst not generally available, permission may be given for the use of the church for appropriate events such as concerts. For more information please contact the Vicar, Rev'd Alan Elkins on 01932 345270 or
[email protected] (day off Friday).
The church car park at the rear of the Cornerstone Centre has spaces for approximately 26 cars, 2 of these spaces are reserved for disabled users.
There is wheelchair access to all downstairs rooms from the car park.
There is an easy access toilet and baby-change facility off the main entrance foyer.
The shared use of toilets and car park is included with any room hire.
The Centre is not licensed; a limited number of TEN’s may be available
The Main Hall is a large multi-purpose hall with polished floor marked out for badminton. The hall is well lit and is heated in winter months. It is suitable for children's parties, wedding receptions, christening celebrations, classes, larger meetings, talks etc. Unfortunately we do not take bookings for teenage parties.
The hall is equipped with tables and chairs to seat 120. Recommended capacity is 300 standing or 120 seated.
At the end of the hall a door leads to toilets with baby-change facility.
There is large modern kitchen attached to the hall, complete with commercial cooker, refrigerator, freezer and microwave; fully fitted with worktops and food preparation table. Hire includes a water boiler for hot drinks, complete stock of crockery, cutlery and wine glasses. There is a selection of cooking utensils.
A large serving hatch opens into the main hall.
The Dora Honnor Room provides a comfortable meeting room suitable for up to 25 people. The room is carpeted and supplied with its own chairs.
This room has a sliding wall that connects to the Main Hall and may be hired in addition to the Main Hall to give an even larger space.
A serving hatch connects the room with a small servery, suitable for the serving of light refreshments and is equipped with a water boiler for hot drinks, a refrigerator, cups and saucers and a sink.

Great hall, great facilities really helped the children's party go well. I would definitely consider using this hall again. The only downside was the oven took ages to warm up (I was warned about this) and some of the sausage rolls never completely cooked.
