About Garthorpe Village Hall

The hall is in the centre of the village of Garthorpe and Fockerby, on the Isle of Axholme, North Lincolnshire. It is c. 10 miles from Scunthorpe and c. 12 miles from Goole. There is a large main hall, a large commercial-style kitchen, a separate bar, entrance porch/cloakroom, ladies & gents & disabled toilets. There is internet & WiFi, built-in projector and screen.  This is a modern, light and airy hall and can be set up and decorated to suit a wide variety of tastes/purposes including workshops, parties, exercise sessions, lunch clubs etc. Ample tables, chairs, crockery etc are available. Our rates are very reasonable starting at £12 for 6 hours for charitable/community events and at £30 for 6 hours for private functions; 24 hour hires are also available. Commercial hire is slightly more but still compares favourably with other venues in the area. Special rates are usually available for regular hiring e.g. weekly or monthly. There is some car parking next to the hall and more in the nearby church car park and elsewhere in the village.

Crowle Entertainers had the pleasure of performing the final show of their tour Spirit of the waters at Garthorpe Village Hall. The hall is roomy, light and airy and very well equipped with modern toilet and kitchen facilities. The members of staff who assisted us could not have been more helpful and friendly and we thoroughly enjoyed our time there. I would highly recommend it for any type of hire - meetings, parties, small theatrical productions or other performances.

Garthorpe Village Hall has become our 'go to' venue for our events (RSPB) due to the excellent facilities, service and support they offer. The new kitchen is very well equipped and spacious as is the main events room. Hiring the room was easy with fast responses and booking processes. We'd be happy to use them again (and feel sure we will).

Garthorpe Village Hall and the team who run it were absolutely fantastic from start to finish for our corporate booking. We held public consultation event at the hall - it's facilities and the warm welcome from those who run it were faultless.

This was the second of two bookings and I was more than happy with the facilities and the excellent service from the Village Hall Committee for both bookings. Fast response to my enquiry, everything clean and tidy despite the essential work to the new kitchen that was being carried out. I would definitely recommend hiring this venue for any events.

I booked the hall for a training event and was very pleased with the venue and catering provided. Communications with Jiggy were fantastic and overall I was delighted with the booking and wouldn't hesitate to use the hall again.

We are a small club and booked the hall for our AGM. From start to finish the service we received was excellent including a very prompt and professional initial response. The hall itself was spotless and well equipped with the things we needed for afternoon tea. The price we paid represented excellent value for money, far less than we have paid in the past for other, less comfortable venues. Highly recommended.

Message from the Secretary: very puzzled by the review dated 20th Jan 2012. Our records show that all enquiries via this site have received a response, in which we have either given the information required or, where this was not possible, have asked for more information so that we can be more helpful. We have never turned people away or "obstructed" them. Can only assume that the person who wrote this review mistook us for another hall.

very disappointed with the response from the secretary. Found the person unhelpful and obstructive and so have decided not to persue the matter in Garthorpe. Will continue to seek out a more accomodating village hall.
