Sun Pier House

Sun Pier House (SPH) was formed in 2013 to support Medway’s unique creative culture. We offer a base for established and start-up artists to develop their practice and deliver a varied exhibition and arts programme. Split over three floors our award-winning venue is home to artist studios, an exhibition gallery, events space, hire rooms, cafe and workshop space – all enjoying a glorious panoramic view of the River Medway.

Our community hire space is ideal for local businesses to hold meetings, training sessions or workshops.Free WIFI, tables and chairs are included in the hire and layouts available include theatre or boardroom style and room capacity is between 50-85 people depending upon layout.A projector & screen, flipchart and stationary are also available for hire if required. 

We also welcome bookings from local communities and organisations. ⁠We know that starting something from nothing and running your own business is hard work. ⁠Whether it is a book club, an art workshop, a yoga class, a knit and natter, or something much bigger we want to help get it going and enable you to succeed. ⁠Not only is the room a great facility for loads of community led ideas, but we are also backing it up with a ‘Pay What You Can’ scheme, offering a staggered payment scheme bespoke to each idea, with wrap around business advice to get you going. 

Alongside offering a simple refreshment package, SPH has a wonderful onsite café serving a variety of hot, cold and alcoholic drinks, as well as a bespoke in-house catering service. There is onsite pay ‘n’ display parking and Chatham train and bus station are within a 5 minute walk offering routes all over Medway and beyond. 

By hiring thisspace you will be supporting our not-for-profit organisation and our on-going work with the Medway community.Since repurposing the room we are reliant on funding and volunteer time to finish with decorating and refreshingthe room, if you think your business or group may be able to help us with this we would be very grateful  -please get in touch. 

Unfortunately there is no disabled access to the Community Hire Space space, we are trying to secure funding for a lift to make our spaces fully accessible.
