Woodchurch Memorial Hall

Woodchurch Memorial Hall welcomes you for all your get togethers - relaxation or work, education or fun, exercise or play, formal or relaxed.

Woodchurch Memorial Hall has three spaces for hire, all fully accessible to wheelchair users and with accessible toilets.

The Main Hall is a large, light space with tall windows and a polished wooden floor. Book it for your party, wedding, club meeting, theatre production, badminton, keep fit, baton twirling, Pilates, lecture, dinner dance, Christening, funeral and more. 

The hall has ramped access and double doors with a small entrance area, a stage, a large kitchen with separate external door, an additional room mostly used to store chairs and tables, and a Jack and Jill tunnel through to the adjacent Annexe.

There are several toilets including one that is fully accessible for wheelchair users which also has a baby changing table.

There are ceiling lights for good general lighting and dimmable wall lights provide more subtle lighting.

There is an amplifier with installed speakers that can be operated from the stage. The amplifier includes an induction hearing loop for those with hearing aids. A blue tooth device allows you to use the music on your phone with the amplifier and speakers.

The Main Hall kitchen has a fridge, urn, large range with ovens, a bain marie, large sinks, crockery and cutlery.

There is ample food preparation area and a serving hatch. The kitchen also has its own loo.

During 2022, a ramp will be installed to allow full wheelchair access to the external door to the kitchen.

The Annexe is a pleasant, light space about the same size as the Main Hall and is ideal for parties, dances, weddings, club meetings, keep fit, baton twirling, Pilates, lectures, tea parties, work meetings and more.

The Annexe has ramped access and double doors with a small entrance area and a galley kitchen with a long serving hatch. It has a lino floor and curtained windows. There is also a hearing loop.

There are two toilets with doors 0.9 metres wide – which is sufficient for wheelchair access. 

The Annexe kitchen has a sink, fridge, kettle, teapots, crockery and cutlery and is suitable for serving drinks and pre-prepared food. It also has a long serving hatch making it easy to serve a lot of people.

The Meeting Room is an ideal space for smaller meetings, with a small kitchen, good WiFi access and toilets. 

The total area 18 sq m, being 5.1m x 3.6 m. All the doors are at least 0.9m wide, so are wheelchair-friendly although there is a small step into the room.

The Meeting Room kitchen has a fridge, kettle, teapots, crockery and cutlery, suitable for serving drinks and pre-prepared food.
