High Hurstwood is nestled in the picturesque Sussex countryside in a designated area of outstanding natural beauty. The Village Hall is situated on the village green, in the centre of the beautiful hamlet of High Hurstwood, with its historic church. and numerous listed Elizabethan houses. The Village Hall was built in 2000 to a very exacting standard, and designed to reflect the style of a traditional Sussex barn which blends into this charming country village setting. The Hall is ideally located, with its own car park to one side for thirty cars, bordered by a wooded area of mature oak trees. To the other side a terraced area overlooks the green, offering the hall a level of seclusion and independence from the rest of the village, yet just a short walk across the green sits the newly refurbished Hurstwood public house. Offering authentic English village charm with modern facilities, the hall has a capacity for 200 guests, or seating for 100 guests to dine in comfort. The hall is in an ideal location for bringing together friends and family for weddings, parties, functions and events of all kinds, including corporate events.

Availability and Hire Costs

Availability: For viewings, reservations and deposits, furniture and crockery hire, please contact the Reservations Manager, Heath Barton-Potter on 01825 733916 or 07768 550846.

Hire Costs: The hire charge for wedding hire is £750 for non-residents and £375 for residents. The price will include cleaning. Two hours are included in the hire charge for wedding and party bookings which need to set up on a Friday evening. All entertainment and music must finish at midnight and the hall vacated by 1am. Check out is 11am on the Sunday morning.

High Hurstwood is an incredible village with the jewel being the Village Hall. I recently got married and had my reception at the hall. The gentleman, Heath, who looks after the hall is just so amazing and can't do enough to help you. From the minute we booked the hall everything went so well and our day was perfect. This hall is gorgeous inside and out and really is a blank canvas to make your visions come to life and Heath really does help you with that. A great price also!! Would recommend to friends,family and to anyone who wishes to have a country barn inspired hall for a fantastic price. Emma Bailey

First of all thank you to you and your team for making the hire of the village hall so easy and stress free. Your cleaning company were superb,they did such a great job which made the day after the wedding all the more relaxing.

We hired High Hurstwood village hall as our wedding reception venue, and it was perfect...it really enabled us to tailor make our countryside wedding, much better then any hotel wedding! The location is spectacular, and it is like no other village hall I have ever seen before. Calling it a village hall does not do it justice, for a 1st impression it def gives a wow factor! We transformed the inside of the hall so quickly and everyone commented that it was perfect. The stage made it really easy for our band "the Big Kahuna" to setup and they created the best party atmosphere, everyone was dancing! Having the childrens park and playing field on the side of the hall was really good for keeping young children entertained! Everyone involved with the hall comittee were really helpful and friendly, making hiring the hall really easy. We have a lot of lovely memories and would definately use the hall again.
