About St John's Waterloo
Grade II* St John's has reopened after a spectacular restoration by award-winning architect Eric Parry, which has transformed it into one of the most sustainable and spacious heritage venues in central London. The landmark Waterloo church on the roundabout provides one of the best contemporary performance, event, training and meeting spaces on the South Bank. St John’s vast open nave has been restored and enhanced for conferences, concerts and unique arts events. A fresh, elegant decorative scheme has transformed it into a soaring, light-filled and, above all, totally flexible space which can be quickly set up in a range of layouts. New architectural screens provide a focus for your performance. The nave is perfect for all kinds of music, theatre and dance performances from classical concerts to community ceilidhs. The improved acoustics have attracted particular praise from musicians and singers. We have new top-of-the-range AV and lighting systems and there are two small side rooms available as green rooms, making St John's a thoroughly versatile performance venue.
In addition, SJW now has three versatile new meeting rooms, ideal for smaller conferences, presentations, training days, workshops or get-togethers for remote teams. Your guests and colleagues will enjoy a warm welcome in our peaceful building. They’ll enjoy taking a break in the churchyard garden at lunchtime. And almost everyone finds it easy to get to Waterloo!
The Mendelssohn, Jubilee, and Octavia rooms can all accommodate up to 40 in a range of formats and benefit from high ceilings and natural light. They are all equipped with screens, making them ideal for hybrid meetings. The Old Crypt can additionally be booked as a break- out room, including to serve lunch and teas. Lunch platters can be provided by pre-arrangement with our own environmentally-friendly Food Market.
Our peaceful Goldfinch and Peregrine rooms are ideal for talking therapy, one to one meetings, online sessions (eg Zoom) or interviews, and are also bookable as workspaces.
All spaces are fully accessible and have super-fast broadband for virtual and hybrid events.
