Set in picturesque surroundings and within easy driving distance of Thetford, Attleborough, Brandon and Watton, Wretham Village Hall has recently (Sept/Oct 2023) been transformed by considerable refurbishment works, creating a warm and energy efficient, good looking community hub with facilities that include a superfast fibre enhanced broadband, CCTV and a fully functioning professional kitchen. As well as our main Hall, that can cater for a wide range of private functions ranging from birthday parties to business meetings, we also have a separate smaller room, with comfortable seating, creating a chill out zone / safe space - very useful for wanting a breather from the party! Or even business users who don't need a formal setting and want a more relaxed atmosphere. There is plenty of parking surrounding the Hall, again covered by CCTV, promoting safety and a large area of grass, an area of tarmac with basketball hoops, and play / outdoor fitness equipment, promoting activities by all. The Hall itself has regular classes with a wide range of activities as well as organised community events, to which everyone is invited!
Availability and Hire Costs
Availability: The hall is available to hire 24/7 52 weeks per year. Please refer to our online calendar for availability
Hire Costs: Hiring Charges: All private – per hour Resident (Wretham) - £7.50 Non Resident - £10 Commercial - per hour All Hirers - £15 Definition Commercial in relation to WVH: The person(s) hiring is or has the intention of selling of goods or services for profit. This includes, but is not limited to: charging an entrance fee, charging exhibitors to ‘sell’ / ‘display’ their wares, charging for beverages and / or charging for services offered. This will always apply to those who are hiring the Hall for their own business. This will NOT apply to those person(s) hiring the Hall who are a) residents of Wretham and are doing so in order to a) raise funds for the Village Hall and / or b) raise funds for a Wretham Community project (consultation process / evidence will be required) Charities Local Charities will be charged at Resident rate Nationwide Charities will be charged at Non Resident rate Charity number will be required If in any doubt as to which rate is applicable – please just ask! KITCHEN FACILITIES Basic Use - Chargeable Per Day All Hirers - £15 The fee will allow the use of the facilities for the preparation of food in the kitchen, with use of the utensils provided and/or the use of the plates, cups, glasses and cutlery provided. The fee also includes use of the dishwasher but DOES NOT include the use of any other appliances. The kitchen premises and equipment is only to be used in conjunction with events at the hall and may not be used for food to be consumed at other premises. Full Use - Chargeable Per Day All Hirers - £30 The fee will allow the use of all the facilities provided in "Basic Use" PLUS the use of all other appliances. These include two ovens with hobs, a microwave and a large mixer. Deposit A £100 returnable deposit will be required in advance for all bookings and may be retained, in part or full, to cover any damages or losses sustained during a hire or in the event of a loss arising as a result of a cancellation by the hirer.
