About St Marks Community Centre, Widcombe, Bath
St Marks Community Centre is an old Victorian church, built in 1870, converted to a community centre in 1970.
It is a beautiful old building, 5 minute's walk from Bath train and bus stations,just across the river in Widcombe.
It is showing its age, so do nit expect perfection, but hire rates are very reasonable ( currently around £60 an hour for the whole building) so this is reflected in the low cost.
Measuring 168 square metres (17.6 m x 11.5 m) the main hall boasts a 10.7m high vaulted ceiling, original features including the Pulpit, church pews and wall plaques and a and a raised stage for performances. The floor is a sprung timber which is particularly suited to performance based use such as dance or theatre.
The Main Hall is utilised for a range of regular and occasional events including but not limited to; Ballet, theatre production, children’s events and teaching, birthday parties, fund-raising events, music rehearsals and wedding receptions.

There are also meeting rooms ,parking for users (6+ cars) and an attractive garden.
St Marks is well used and very popular, but is often free on Saturday nights and in school holidays and some daytime slots are available.
