Trethomas Life Centre (TLC) – A Place for Community, Care, and Connection

The Trethomas Life Centre (TLC) is a newly restored, welcoming community venue located in the heart of Trethomas. Originally known as Bryn Hall, this much-loved building has been transformed by The Parish Trust into a fresh, modern space offering warmth, accessibility, and purpose for all who walk through its doors.

TLC is a fully renovated community hub, designed for individuals, families, and organisations to come together in meaningful ways. From celebrations to support groups, children’s activities to training sessions, the Centre is a place that lives up to its initials—Tender Loving Care.

The Story Behind TLC

The Parish Trust took over the former Bryn Hall in 2024. Despite its dilapidated condition, the building offered a key location close to where the charity was originally founded. Thanks to a huge effort from volunteers and supporters—and with just five months to plan and complete works—the building was restored and reopened as the Trethomas Life Centre in August 2025.

The name ‘TLC’ reflects both its geographical location and the care-driven mission of the charity. It now serves as the a base for The Parish Trust’s work with children, youth, and families, as well as its wellbeing services, and acts as an accessible space for local people to find connection, support, and opportunity.

Flexible Hire

The Trethomas Life Centre is available for public hire. It is suitable for:

• Private events such as birthday parties or celebrations

• Children’s activities

• Educational classes and workshops

All income generated from room hire goes directly back into the charitable work of The Parish Trust, which supports thousands of people across Caerphilly with food, family services, wellbeing projects, and more.

Location and Access

The Trethomas Life Centre is located on a pedestrian lane off Heol yr Ysgol, Trethomas. There is no vehicle access to the site, but free on-street parking is available nearby and in the large village car park, and the centre is well connected by public transport. The building is fully accessible.
