About Crosscrake Community Hub
Crosscrake Community Hub is a modern community space located within the grounds of St Thomas’ Church, Crosscrake, near Kendal, Cumbria. The hub was conceived as an accessible venue for diverse events that aim to address rural isolation. As such, it is an ideal space for community social, educational, and recreational activities, including lunch groups, coffee mornings, youth groups, exercise sessions, creative workshops, and many other events.
Key aims of the Crosscrake Community Hub project are to:
- Reduce social isolation, especially for older residents, and improve the health and wellbeing of local communities.
- Promote intergenerational activities to foster community cohesion.
- Offer a space for essential services such as counselling, advice workshops, and digital literacy training.
The state-of-the-art building has been designed to utilise the very latest materials and ecofriendly building technology, ensuring it is both energy-efficient and finished to the highest possible specification.
