About The Carnegie and Guildhall complex
This complex in the heart of Thetford Town is made up of two large venues: The Carnegie and The Guildhall.
Built in 1968, The Carnegie remains the largest venue for hire in Thetford Town Centre for over 50 years. With a fully equipped stage and professional production lighting, the Carnegie offers an unmatched setting for theatre, performance, concerts, and dynamic corporate presentations. With a 300-person capacity and rake seating facilities, The Carnegie can accommodate everything from conferences, exhibitions, community events and training sessions to fitness classes, markets, fundraising events and private functions.

Theatre style seating: 280 - 300 people (max, based on raked seating setup)
With tables and chairs (no dance floor): 200 people
With tables and chairs (with dance floor): 160 people
The Guildhall is an iconic Grade II listed landmark. Perfect for weddings, performances, and corporate functions, this beautifully restored 1901 venue features a dramatic Large Court with a grand barrel-vaulted ceiling and an intimate Council Chamber. The venue boasts stunning Edwardian civic architecture, including an ornate swan-necked pediment, wooden panelled courtrooms and multi-bay Venetian windows, creating a sophisticated backdrop for special occasions and business meetings alike.
