About The Board Game Café
The Board Game Café is a unique, family-friendly social gaming and private-hire venue located at The Stables in Blackburn. Offering something very different from a traditional community hall or function room, the venue combines comfortable lounge and table seating with board games, console gaming, large-screen TVs, desserts, drinks and entertainment, all within a relaxed and colourful setting.
The venue is suitable for birthday parties, children’s parties, family celebrations, private gatherings, corporate socials, team-building events, school and college groups, charities, clubs, community organisations, workshops and organised social events. Exclusive venue hire is available, allowing groups to enjoy the space privately for their event.
Entertainment facilities include a selection of board games, PlayStation console gaming and multiple large-screen TVs. Guests can also play their own music, and DJs can be accommodated by prior arrangement. The venue can be configured differently depending on the type of event, with both comfortable lounge seating and table areas available.
Refreshments are available on site, including desserts, hot drinks, karak chai, milkshakes, mocktails and other drinks. Catering can be arranged for group bookings, and outside food may also be permitted by prior agreement. Kitchen use can be discussed where required.
The venue is alcohol-free and family-friendly, making it particularly suitable for mixed-age celebrations and community events. There is step-free access from street level, accessible parking nearby, Wi-Fi and charging facilities.
Located within the characterful surroundings of The Stables, the venue offers a distinctive alternative to a standard hall, combining private-event flexibility with entertainment already built into the space.
