Venues required for Mensa testing

Mensa contacted us recently to see if any of the halls listed on HallsHire.com could help with their testing sessions.

They are looking to hire rooms that can seat around 10 people whilst socially distancing in a class room style with tables and chairs. They need venues in the UK during August, September and October, ideally on Saturdays during the day, but early evening such as from 18.00 for around 3 to 4 hours during the week may be OK.

Mensa usually use school halls for testing but these facilities aren't available at the moment, so they're looking for quiet venues in town centres or near stations so people can easily access the session.

If you think you can help, please drop us an email and we'll put you in touch!

Mensa was founded in 1946 by barrister Roland Berrill, and scientist and solicitor Dr Lance Ware with it's intentions simply to be a society for bright people, completely free of politics and oblivious to racial or religious differences - the only qualification of membership to be a high IQ.

IQ levels of Mensa members are in the top 2% of the population and they hold their tests weekly, along with a personality profile. If you're looking to join Mensa, you can take one of those tests or have a test performed by any qualified psychologist. They've got an IQ test on their website but they warn it's for entertainment only and isn't a way to apply for membership - overall they don't endorse online IQ tests as they can't be verified. Schools can also get their pupils tested once the children are 10 years old.

I'm feeling a little tired this morning as I write this, lock down has taken it out of me with home schooling and work! - but I'm certainly tempted to try their online test and see how I fare!
