About Gaskell Memorial Hall
The Gaskell Hall is named after Elizabeth Gaskell, the novelist who regularly stayed in the village.
We have two main rooms that can be booked for a variety of activities and is used regularly by village and other groups for many events such as, yoga, pilates, Saturday coffee mornings, Village Players productions, line-dancing, country-dancing, badminton, W.I; one-off parties, lectures, concerts, public meetings etc.
Main Hall
The main hall can be used for Coffee Mornings, Parties, Dances, Community Cinema, Play productions and any other private functions you may wish to hold, the sprung floor is perfect for dancing! Seating and tables for up to 200 and an attached kitchen.
Wheelchair access is possible and their is a disabled toilet.
Also available:
A sound system with induction loop for hearing-aid users, with cable mike or radio mikes, USB, Headphone Jack and Bluetooth connections.
Full size projection screen, the curtains have blackout linings so the hall can be darkened for projection etc.
The Green Room
The Green Room can be used for conferences, meetings and smaller private functions. Seating for up to 40. It has it's own large kitchen and it's own entrance. It is on the first floor with access by stairs.
