Mendip Scout Base is the home of Wedmore Scout Group, and is located on the edge of the village.
It is well insulated, double glazed, and has oil fired central heating that also provides the hot water supply; so it's ‘cosy’ even in the colder months. It has a large hall for general use, a modern kitchen with catering facilities for 40 people, including tables, chairs and benches; as well as toilet and shower facilities and emergency lighting. Outside there is a stoned parking area and external floodlighting.
For Scout and other youth organisations staying overnight, there is a bunk room for three people, a drying room to deal with wet clothing, and charging points for USB devices.
This venue is suitable for the following occasions.
Availability: During the day in the week and some evenings. Most weekends are free.
Hire Costs: Daytime and evening bookings The hourly rate is £7.50; or £20.00 for a morning, afternoon or evening session. This includes central heating when required, lighting, use of the kettles, and hot water.
