About The Old Chapel Gotherington
The Old Chapel in Gotherington has been known by many names in its 189 year history and now, since it was purchased by the village to save it from closure, The Old Chapel.
We set out to sympathetically renovate and conserve. We didn't want to make it look like every other community building, instead wanted to retain its very special character.
It has handmade panelling and a beautiful White American oak and glass balustrade. It is fully carpeted. There is lighting for every occasion - gentle atmospheric uplighting, task spotlights and even a central art deco chandelier.
There is easy disabled access from the pavement with ramps and handrails.
In the past the hall has hosted family parties, art exhibitions, film shows, plays and even a funeral. Church services are held here regularly. It has also been hired out for pilates, barre, yoga and mindfulness sessions.
