About Chilworth Village Hall

Chilworth Village Hall is situated on the main A27 between Southampton and Romsey, alongside/behind the Chilworth Arms. It actually comprises two halls, one large and one small (with folding soundproof doors between the two), a committee room and a kitchen with two separate serving hatches. During summer 2015 the Hall benefited from the first phase of a two-year programme of refurbishment. It is well suited for meetings, clubs, community groups, dance groups, adult and children's parties and family celebrations. The car park has 40 marked spaces. On one side there is the Chilworth Arms pub/restaurant and on the other is the well-kept Village Green.

Reviews of Chilworth Village Hall

We hired the hall from 1030 to 1530 for a buffet lunch to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary. The hall was clean and tidy when we arrived and we had a delightful celebration. We had 60 guests and there was plenty of parking space for them. Disabled access was good. The general situation is very pleasant with views across a playing field to a wooded area. There is also a Chilworth Hall in Surrey, which caused me some initial confusion on the internet. However, once I got that sorted out, making the booking was very easy, and Donna is very helpful. We hope that we will be able to book it again for our 60th anniversary!

I went to see the hall as I am looking for a room to hire for martial art lessons. Unfortunately the main hall wasn't available for the days that I could do and the smaller room was too small. Donna was very nice though and I would definitely think about hiring the hall for a party etc.

Our Bridge Club hires the committee room each Saturday morning. We have found the booking process, via Donna, to be very easy. The costs are extremely reasonable for our small group and the room is always clean and tidy.

We have been using Chilworth Parish Hall for a few years now. Mussarat and now Donna have always been very helpful. We hired it for our daughter's 3rd birthday on Sunday 27th Nov 2011 from 10am to 2pm. On arrival, the hall was already open and occupied by the people that had hired it the night before. We were informed that they were clearing up from last night. Up until 10.30am, we had individuals coming in and out, attempting to clear the hall from the night before. The hall was filthy on our arrival. The floor was dirty and had not been swept. There was what appeared to be cigarette ash on the window sills. On leaving at 2pm, we swept up both halls and removed our rubbish. We informed Donna, who was very apologetic. We have never had any issues in the past and were disappointed this time. Can we request that the electric cooker be fixed as it still does not work. No microwave in place. Despite all this, we will continue to hire the hall again.
