Roxwell Memorial Hall is on The Street in the centre of the village of Roxwell. It is warm, inviting and well looked after. It has a large main hall measuring 50ft x 30ft, with a raised stage, and along one side an adjoining bar area (a staffed bar is available if required), then beyond that a fenced garden which is safe for children. It has a large new kitchen, with cooker, fridge etc. It is ideal for evening classes, activities, parties for adults or children, wedding receptions, meetings or small away-days, as well as regular local clubs and groups. There is a recently resurfaced car park, and a large grass area ideal for volleyball or for a marquee if more indoor space is needed.
During the week the hall is used for a variety of activities, including a 5-day pre-school, bowls, art, youth club, and dancing. The building and the areas around it provide a lovely flexible space for fetes, rallies, and parties.
Availability and Hire Costs
Availability: The hall is available for private/events hire on some Wednesday evenings, and at weekends. In the school holidays it is available most of the time. The pre-school is open 5 days a week in term time (07970750484). Other groups, open to the public, are bowls, art, yoga, youth group, adult and children's dance, Zumba.
Hire Costs: Current rates (valid until July 2024) £15 per hour Mon-Thurs £30 per hour Friday evening to Sunday and Bank Holidays. The additional charge for the use of the bar is £25 per hour (usually two bar staff) plus a TENS fee. Alternatively, if alcohol is to be consumed, a corkage fee. There are concessional rates for local groups and for people who book for regular meetings/activities or events which are available to local residents.
