About St Philips Church & Centre
Located in Waterloo Street and built in the 1860's the church with it's spire (added in 1878) is a landmark which can be seen from many parts of the town). In 1967 part of the church was divided to provide a Community Centre for local use. It is the only facility of its kind in the borough and provides a meeting place for a wide variety of groups. We have 3 rooms for hire - The Main Hall with a fully fitted kitchen which holds up to a capacity of 100 great for larger parties and two further rooms ideal for smaller functions one with a small kitchenette. We do offer free parking facilities.
